Teacup poodles are very precious and more difficult to find.
The tiny size is the main reason teacup poodles can be expensive, even though the color differences can’t affect the price as expected. 

The rumor of Teacup Poodles

【The character of Teacup poodle】
Many people would assume that smaller size of dogs can be paranoid and barking all the time. BUT, teacup poodles are very different. Teacup poodles are very smart, bright and kind. As you can find that in poodles don’t bark as much, no wonder teacup poodles would be the same.   

【The size of Teacup poodle】

Some rumors say that in order to keep the tiny size of teacup poodles, the breeder would starve the puppies. OR, teacup poodles would suffer from a certain medical injection which can change their size and would shorter its life or cause illness.

THERE is NO EVIDENCE to SUBSTANTIATE THESE REPORTS !

We all know that standard poodles are smart, easy to train and have high awareness. They came in  the seocnd smartest dogs in the world.
And top one in small size dogs.

EVIDENCE 1. As teacup poodles size is very small compare to other breeds. Sometimes they would feel threaten by the surrounding.

Also, Teacup poodle has smaller stomach and digests food and calorie slower in general. The breeder has to feed the puppy teacup poodles meal by meal and several times a day to avoid low blood sugar. 

EVIDENCE Part2.

We are not living in a cartoon world there is no such a thing that could change a size of a puppy /dog.  
 

Teacup poodle is very delicate kind of breed that needs the breeder 24 hrs attention during the first 5-8 moths. It’s not because the breed has genetic default mainly because of the size.

If you wish to buy a new born teacup poodle, the best we can suggest you is choosing at least 4 months old or older teacup poodle puppy.

This would help you to make sure the healthiness of a puppy and secure the size at the same time.

It doesn’t matter that you would miss the first few months. As you would have plenty of time to share with your teacup poodle puppy in the future!

Q1 Does Teacup Poodle has shorter life?

A：Small size of breed does not mean shorter life time!

They are various type of poodles:
Standard Poodle, Mini Poodle, Toy Poodle, Toy Teacup poodle , and Teacup poodle
Maybe we can use human heights to make an example:
a Standard poodle = a 180cm person; a Mini Poodle = a 170 cm person;

a Toy Poodle= a 160 cm person
a Toy Teacup Poodle = a 150 cm person

 Teacup Poodle = a 140cm person
Tiny (Pocket) Teacup Poodle = a 130 cm person

Would a 130 cm person have a shorter life in general?

No doubt at all! It is a very easy NO!

Q2 . Does Teacup Poodle easier to catch a cold?
A：If the owner does not pay attention to the poodle puppy the puppy can get sick, no matter what variety of poodle.

A new born puppy has lower immune system just like a human new born baby. Even though the poodle has become an adult dog you will still need to pay attention to the climate change or your poodle still can catch a cold.  

Q3：Dose Teacup Poodle easy to have fracture?

A： Mostly it can be caused by an accident. The owner should pay extra attention to the safety of your puppy. Do not let your puppy jump from high places. Sometimes, it can happen by external force.

Q4：Teacup Poodle has a genetic default lung and easy to get tired from running. Do I need to buy some supplements for my teacup poodle?

A：Each dog has different amount of physical exercise it needs. The owner will have to give the poodle extra attention and do some observations in order to understand your puppy’s needs. When you have the result of your investigation then you can give the puppy right amount of daily exercise that it needs.  Follow the instruction to keep you having a health teacup poodle.

Q5： Teacup Poodle easy to have skin disease because the big hair volume, do I need to comb the coat everyday?
A：It does not matter to the size of a dog or the hair volume.

Comb the hair daily basis would be helpful for the skin and keep the hair looking beautiful.
Skin disease will depend on the dog itself and the owner as well. Meanwhile, the weather and environment can be related.

Q6：For a female Teacup poodle giving birth can be difficult. Normally, a female teacup poodle will need to have a C-section? and only one-two puppies at a time?
A：Teacup poodle is difficult to breed. As the size of a female teacup poodle is genuinely small likewise the number of babies will decrease.  

For female poodles they sometimes do need to have a C-section in order to giving births.  After C-section, they somehow have difficulty to recover from the surgery also it could be difficult for them to feed the new born puppies.

That said, as a breeder will have to look after the new born puppies instead. That is the reason the price range on the market not able to drop.

Q7：Will teacup poodle never grow? Is that real?
A：Teacup poodles are just like toy poodles and toy teacup poodles during they growing up.
However, for teacup poodles they could stop at a certain stage.
In general, the size of an adult teacup poodle would be 1.5-2 kg and 18-23cm tall. 

Q8：There is no existence of red teacup poodles. They have been made up by some breeders. Those red teacup poodles must have been mixed up with other breeds of dog.

A：There are several different varieties of poodles: Standard, Mini, Toy, Toy Teacup and Teacup. The breed of teacup poodle has started to develop in America and Japan.
However, for teacup poodle is the smallest variety of poodle and more difficult to breed. That is the reason customers find this breed of dog is hard to see. 

If a poodle has mixed with Maltese, the size would not be a teacup size. The appearance would be really easy to tell whether the puppy is a pure breed of poodle. 

Q9 Teacup poodle is a breed of dwarf dog produced by smaller size of inbreeding dogs.

A：Any dog that has been produced by two inbreeding dogs can always have inherited diseases or genetic diseases and primary lung and kidney diseases. Otherwise its appearance would not be as good.  

That said, a professional breeding center wouldn’t have done this to cause all the troubles. 

Q10.：Does teacup poodle have been recognized internationally?
A：Teacup poodle is known around the world, however, the tiny size of dog is not suitable for a dog competition. At the moment this breed of dog has not had its category among dog competitions.
